---Roberto ed io uscimmo dall'hotel e alla vicina fermata prendemmo un tram che ci portò di nuovo nei pressi del Checkpoint Charlie. Scendemmo dal mezzo e ci avviammo a piedi verso il posto di blocco. Passammo accanto al cartello recitante la famosa scritta che faceva da monito: "Attenzione! state ora lasciando il settore occidentale" e che, assieme al luogo stesso militarizzato, ci mise addosso un certo senso di inquietudine. C'era un po di fila, il controllo dei documenti fu formale sulla prima barriera della Repubblica Federale, mentre risultò più stretto, con tanto di compilazione di moduli, sulla frontiera della Repubblica Democratica. Passando davanti a divise militari e garitte, alla fine ci ritrovammo nella DDR. Volsi per un attimo lo sguardo all'indietro e oltre alle sbarre e ai Vopos, ciò che mi colpì furono le facciate del Muro viste da questa parte, completamente grige, monocolori, mai toccate da nessuna bomboletta spray, a differenza dei Murales della facciata opposta. Rivolsi lo sguardo di nuovo in avanti, Alexander Platz era piuttosto lontana da qui, dovevamo prendere un altro tram e avevamo bisogno quindi di cambiare subito un po' di Marchi dell'ovest con Marchi dell'est.---
Roberto and I went out
of the hotel and at the nearby bus stop we took a tram that took us
back near Checkpoint Charlie. We went down by tram and set off
walking towards the checkpoint. We passed the sign reciting the
famous inscription that was a warning: "Caution! You are now
leaving the western sector" and with the place itself
militarized, it took us a sense of unease. There was a bit in a row,
document control was formally on the first barrier of the Federal
Republic, while it turned tighter, with lots of form filling, on the
border of the Democratic Republic. Passing military uniforms and
sentry boxes at the end we found ourselves in the DDR. I turned for a
